Battery discharge testing

Make sure your battery’s can finish the round!

We test the batteries on an electric vehicle by using a battery discharge tester, this is to determine the pack capacity and to find defective cells/battery’s.

After the vehicle has been fully charged we check the batteries for fluid level, the leads are checked for corrosion and the post nuts are checked for tightness.

Then we connect the tester which loads the battery’s by drawing a set amperage.

This will give us a time in minutes (which will determine how good the pack is) and we can also check individual batteries for weakness.

Remember an electric buggy is only as good as it’s batteries and it’s batteries are only as good as the weakest battery in it’s pack.

We offer a full service on petrol golf buggy’s to include

Oil filter replacement with OEM part
Oil change using good quality oil
Air filter replacement using OEM part
Fuel filter replacement
Spark plug replaced with OEM part
Dyno and drive belts checked and adjusted (dyno only)
Fuel tank checked for dirt and debris
Tappets checked on twin cylinder Robin engines
Carburetor drained
All control linkages and cables check for correct operation
Battery and charging circuit tested
General engine check for leaks and faults

Full service on electric vehicles to include

Battery leads checked and any corroded eyelets replaced
Battery fluid levels checked and topped up
Battery terminal nuts checked and tightened
Battery’s discharged to ascertain condition
Battery terminals greased to prevent corrosion
General check of all control switches and levers
Motor terminals and leads checked
Charger checked for operation

Both services have general checks to include

Front end jacked up to check steering and suspension
Front brakes checked, cleaned and adjusted (if fitted)
All grease points lucubrated
Rear end jacked up to check suspension
Rear spring and shackle bolts checked for tightness
Rear brake drums removed to inspect brake linings and linkages
Brake linings cleaned and brakes adjusted for correct operation
Handbrake linkages greased
Gearbox oil checked and topped up
Tyre’s inflated to correct pressure and wheels inspected for damage
Wheels torqued up to correct setting
General check of body, roof and screen to include tightening any loose nuts and bolts
